SNK Corporation provided a new look at Baiken, who is mere days away from joining the roster of Samurai Shodown.
Season Pass 3 DLC in Samurai Shodown will be completed on August 19, 2021, when the last character from the group officially becomes available. Baiken will be joining the previous three additions - ChamCham, Hibiki Takane and Shiro Tokisada Amakusa.
Unlike those characters, however, Baiken has what would often be considered major handicaps as she lacks an eye and an arm that she lost as a child. This guest character from Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 has a pile of other tricks in her arsenal and makes a formidable opponent regardless.
Given the fact she pretty much lost everything as a child, including her family and parts of her body, Baiken is a vengeful warrior who is seeking those responsible for the atrocity. This made her go after That Man and naturally, she despises Gears and doesn't like what he's selling. Still, there isn't much of the story that can be developed in Samurai Shodown since she is a guest character but Baiken's path of revenge will probably continue in the future.
Mayumi Asano will once again voice the character as she did before in Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2. If you're wondering about those seemingly random letters thrown in after "Guilty Gear", they all serve as some sort of designation. Guilty Gear X and XX existed before and the third one was stylised as Xrd instead. REV stands for Revelator sub-title and "2" is there to mark this is the upgrade to the regular Revelator.
