Resident Evil Requiem is the official title of the next major Resident Evil game, which Capcom announced at the Summer Game Fest show. The game introduces a new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft and promises a bold new direction for the series, but the details on what exactly that means remain scarce.
Capcom did say that survival horror will take centre stage in Requiem, which will be music to Resident Evil fans' ears. It won't all be jump scares and eerie atmosphere, though, as the publisher also hinted at "high-stakes cinematic action".
I guess we'll simply have to wait for more info on Requiem to understand what all these marketing buzzwords mean for the game, since the trailer is also pretty vague and doesn't reveal much apart from the devastated Raccoon City setting and our FBI investigator protagonist.
Some insiders speculate that Leon will be returning as the main protagonist and that Capcom are keeping that surprise under wraps but that's just rumours at this point, so take it with a grain of salt.
Resident Evil Requiem releases on February 27, 202,6, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
