Ubisoft and Square Enix are apparently doing a cross-promotion as Lara Croft will make a debut in Rainbow Six Siege. She is going to appear as an elite skin for Ash in her arguably most popular form in the entire franchise.
Ash is one of the most popular operators in Rainbow Six Siege. Popularity sells and for that reason, it is no wonder she is the first one on the roster to get the third elite skin.
This time around, it is outside Rainbow Six's universe as it will be a crossover with Tomb Raider series. Ash will look like Lara Croft in her classic outfit rather than sporting the rebooted looks from the most recent trilogy.
That said, while Ash will wear Lara's outfit, she will not entirely look like the acrobatic heroine. The trailer below shows Ash's new look from several angles, displaying her more muscular features, which are simply more realistic than the perky acrobat. With that in mind, Ash's torso hitbox will not be enlarged in any way.
Some fans are not taking the addition lightly though. While one group is not satisfied that Ash is getting her third elite skin, others pointed out that Ubisoft missed a crucial design detail that is tied to the technology of the later part of the 1990s. What good is all this advanced technology, if we can't have pixelated triangular shapes?
There is currently no release date for the skin but the reveal that happened while Ubisoft were unveiling their roadmap confirmed the skin will be arriving at some point after the release of Operation Void Edge.
Other reveals included the roadmap for the game and the rework of the most memed operator in the history of Rainbow Six Siege.
