Ubisoft's popular tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege is getting a whole week in free-to-play waters and it might be wise to start preloading, as it might take a while depending on your connection.
Rainbow Six Siege's free week lasts from August 27 to September 4, 2020, and the freebie is not platform-exclusive, i.e. it's available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users. You can check out the exact start times on the image below, divided into four zones.
We're looking at a hefty download too, hence our recommendation to start preloading sooner rather than later. Rainbow Six Siege weighs in at 83GB on PC, and the other two platforms shouldn't be far away either. Hopefully, your connection won't cause you to miss out.
If you're unfamiliar with Rainbow Six Siege, it's easily the most popular tactical shooter around. Players get to pick from a rich roster of characters, each with own special abilities that will come in handy during the fight.
Rainbow Six Siege drew inspiration from actual counter-terrorism operations so the teams are designated as attackers or defenders. With each team having five players, there's a huge focus on teamwork and that's what'll take you to victory most of the time.
This is where the choice of operators can be crucial, which is why we'd recommend browsing over Rainbow Six Siege's roster while you're preloading the game. It wouldn't hurt to check out a guide or two either, preferably a newer one because the game's been around for a while.
One of the things that make Rainbow Six Siege even more special are destructible environments, and there is a number of operators that will let you be at your most destructive, yet still remain useful.
