Rainbow Six Quarantine is now Rainbow Six Parasite

Less than a week since Ubisoft confirmed they are considering a name change for Rainbow Six Quarantine, new artwork has surfaced on the PS Store, revealing a brand new moniker - Rainbow Six Parasite.

UPDATE:  Ubisoft states that Rainbow Six Quarantine's new name is not Rainbow Six Parasite - which is just an internal placeholder name. "We can confirm this is a glimpse of the upcoming game, and we will share more details, including the official name, soon," the publisher told PCGamesN .

Original story: During their earnings call last week, publisher Ubisoft were asked about their upcoming tactical co-op shooter Rainbow Six Quarantine and whether they are considering a name change, since some people may find the current moniker a bit insensitive during the pandemic.

Ubisoft said they are indeed planning to have a conversation about a name change and it seems they have come to a conclusion that it's for the best to drop the Quarantine subtitle. Today, a brand new artwork for the game has surfaced on PlayStation Store, revealing the brand new name - Rainbow Six Parasite.

Interestingly, the client on PlayStation Store got an update and a pretty big one (14.2 GB). The update takes the game version to 1.01 and describes it as an "Initial launch patch."

This may suggest that the game's release date is coming sooner than expected but keep in mind that Ubisoft only said they expect the game to launch in 2021. There is no specific release date for the game at the moment.

And since Ubisoft are yet to officially announce the new moniker, take everything you just read as a rumour and nothing more, even if the leaked artwork looks pretty legit.

Rainbow Six Parasite is announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S.
