Rainbow 6 Siege just launched their Year 9 Season 1 Operation Deadly Omen in February. And with it came a tonne of changes to the game, starting with a new operator and adding new maps, weapons, and attachments.

However, players began to suffer a lot from the internal bugs and glitches that the new update caused, so Ubisoft stepped up to address these problems. With Season 2 lurking around the horizon, the developers just revealed their Roadmap update, offering insights into upcoming developments and features.

All Updates to Rainbow 6 Siege Y9 Roadmap

Here are all the changes and updates developers are making to the game:

Siege Marketplace Changes

Ever since the Beta phase, players have been actively trading their favourite items with others in the Siege Marketplace. With Season 2 approaching, the developers are excited to announce that the marketplace will be fully open and accessible to everyone.

These changes are expected to go live on Y9S2.

Ban Enforcement Changes

As mentioned at the Year 9 Reveal Panel, developers are substantially increasing their efforts to combat cheating in Siege. For Season 2, they are introducing the first phase of enhanced ban enforcement on Steam (PC), which will make it harder for banned cheaters to re-enter the game. This new anti-cheat feature will roll out in stages, with the initial release planned for Season 2.

These changes are expected to go live on Y9S2.

Changes to Solis and Fenrir

Operator balancing is key to maintaining Siege's competitive edge. The developers are focusing on Defense and will be balancing Fenrir and Solis (Part 1) in the upcoming season. Part 2 of the Solis update is planned for Season 3.

These changes are expected to go live on Y9S2.

Map Changes

Season 2 will also bring major updates to Map Training. The "Endless Drill" mode, now part of the Year 9 Roadmap, will be added to the Map Training playlist, alongside other new presets and maps.

Players have long requested more control over map selection, so Season 2 will introduce a new filtering feature in the Standard Playlist. This allows players to choose from preset maps in the menu.

These changes are expected to go live on Y9S2.

Reputation System Updates

The developers are continually refining the Reputation System based on player feedback. To ensure its accuracy and fairness, the system will remain in Beta until Season 4, providing time to make adjustments for better transparency and effectiveness.

These changes are expected to go live on Y9S4.

Play comfort and quality of life Changes

Regarding player Comfort, the After-Action Screen will receive further enhancements this season, with the full update expected in Season 3. This aims to give players a detailed and useful summary of each Rainbow Six Siege match.

These changes are expected to go live on Y9S3.

This was everything revealed by the developers so far. Be sure to look out for the Year 9 Season 2 Reveal set to go live on Sunday, May 26th at 9AM PT / 5PM BST / 6PM CET/ 12:00PM ET.
