PS Plus still seems somewhat barren since it dropped support for legacy platforms but it sometimes provides noteworthy titles like Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3 in the same month. This will be the case for September 2019.

PS Plus will bring two titles that are heavy on close-quarters combat but with other features that are different enough to separate the games in September 2019.

Batman: Arkham Knight barely needs any introduction. It is the culmination of Rocksteady's fantastic Batman Arkham series. Arkham Knight is also the first game in the series to feature a usable Batmobile but one could argue it was actually overused in a neverending fight against drone tanks.

Anyway, it will put players in the bat boots as the Caped Crusader takes on a new threat that proves more formidable than anyone from his rogues' gallery. Even though the Joker is not physically present in the game, Batman is suffering from the way the mad criminal's life ended and he therefore manifests in the Dark Knight's dark thoughts.

Batman: Arkham Knight was generally well-received on consoles but it was a disaster on PC at launch which prompted lower ratings across the board.

The second game in PS Plus' offering for September 2019 is a much more recent title. This game released in late November 2018, making it three years younger than Arkham Knight, severely reducing the chances that PS4 users already played it.

Unlike Arkham Knight that performed well on consoles and abysmally on PC, Darksiders 3 performs well on all platforms. It was met with different critique, however, since Gunfire Games attempted to make it a bit more Souls-like which threw some players off.

Still, Darksiders 3 is a worthy successor to the first two titles in the franchise and if you like action RPGs in the style of Devil May Cry, chances are high you will like Darksiders 3 as well. It has some Metroid aspects too, with all the backtracking that's going on.
