In the latest statement over at Ndemic Creations website, the developer has announced that Plague Inc. creator James Vaughan has made a large donation to support global response efforts to the crisis of COVID-19 virus.
"On behalf of all players of Plague Inc. we’ve made a $250,000 donation split between the Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and the World Health Organisation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund," it is written in the blog post.
Vaughan wrote that back when he started working on Plague. Inc, he could never imagine the real world would come to resemble his game or that so may players would be playing Plague Inc. to get through an actual pandemic.
Furthermore, he wrote that the team is proud to be able to help the work of WHO and CEPI with their donation. On top of this, Ndemic Creations will soon start promoting the response fund directly in game for players who want to donate and support the WHO.
Plague Inc. also got a new update, which introduces a game mode to let players save the world from a deadly disease outbreak. You can read more about that in our earlier report.
Plague Inc. is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and mobile, both iOS and Android.
