Jeff Kaplan has revealed the new event that's coming to Overwatch, named ''Retribution''. It will be a co-op mission, showing a bit of Blackwatch's lore in a highly explosive history lesson, as players take on Talon army.

Overwatch Retribution will be somewhat similar in format to Rainbow Six:Siege's Outbreak event. It will last for 20 days, starting on 10 April and concluding on 30 April 2018. Players will be able to select a character from a limited pool that is comprised of Moira, Reaper, McCree and Genji. All of them will be present in their Blackwatch skins, also teasing the upcoming skin for Moira.

As McCree notes in the trailer, it looks like Talon mobilised an army to stop Blackwatch, so they will be fighting off large numbers of enemies while attempting to complete their mission.Players will be fighting enemies that have completely new models that can be seen in the trailer, from the generic troopers to highly mobile melee assassins.

Genji players should not get tempted to engage her in a sword fight, as Moira and McCree noted, players should deal with the problem she poses but also ''keep distance from her''. The exact number of enemy types is not yet revealed but the trailer shows at least four - heavy troopers with miniguns, snipers and the two previously mentioned.

Speaking of new assets, the map that the mission will play out on will also be new. It will be called Rialto, set in and modeled after Venice. Players will apparently be with ties to Talon, named Antonio Bartalotti who seems to have orchestrated a bomb attack on Overwatch's Rome HQ. This is one of those points in Overwatch lore where Jack Morrison's and Gabriel Reyes' different points of view cause friction between them.

Overwatch Uprising turned out to be a very popular event last year, and it seems like Blizzard are looking to expand the lore through several other similar events, starting with Retribution.
