Much like any big update, New World's first expansion has a few issues, one of them prompting the players to ask whether an Elite zone is bugged.

Amazon Game Studios added a new Elite zone to New World with Rise of the Angry Earth expansion, called the Dance of the Fireflies.

However, when you get there and the ominous UI warns you that you are entering an Elite zone, nothing ends up happening, other than a group of people standing around in empty space.

Unfortunately, this particular Elite zone is bugged for the time being.

Mind you, it has been only one day since the release of the Rise of the Angry Earth so hotfixes should be coming fairly quickly and while we can't speak for certain, it is quite possible the Dance of the Fireflies will be fixed in one of them.

If you are wondering whether some side quests are bugged in a similar manner, however, it is a different story.

New World - Entering the Elysian Wilds for the first time
Elysian Wilds are beautiful but need some work on the basics

Multiple side quests in the Elysian Wilds have bottlenecked objectives. What this means is that one step of each quest will require you to perform an action to progress it, such as planting seeds in a particular spot. When you get there, the action button doesn't pop up and you can't do it but there is still a group of players concentrated on that place.

This type of quest is not bugged but as I mentioned before, it is bottlenecked, meaning that if one player interacts with the object, the rest can't do so until it respawns.

As such, you can see a pile of players waiting for something and in more civilised servers, they form up queues. It is still slow but at least there is some order with the progression.
