Doom: The Dark Ages is just around the corner and today, id Software, the developer of this highly anticipated title, have shared a brand new trailer, giving us a detailed look at some of the never-before-seen content.
The trailer highlights Cosmic Realm, a brand new world in Doom: The Dark Ages, which combines Lovecraftian themes with Doom's traditional level and enemy design. This resulted in new enemy types like the monstrous Cosmic Baron and a new variation of Cacodemon with tentacles, which can be pretty deadly if you get close to this new baddie.
As for the new realm, it has a totally different vibe when compared to Doom's hellish landscapes. It's moody with massive buildings and unlike anything we've seen in Doom before. Oh, and Cthulhu is there, too!
There's a new weapon too and it's quite something. Think of it as a mace launcher that you can use to tear the monsters a new one from a distance. It's not clear if this weapon is exclusive to the Cosmic Realm or players will be able to use it everywhere once their get their hands on it.
All in all, it's another fantastic trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages, which is a game that we're quite excited to play once it releases next month.
Doom: The Dark Ages launches on May 15, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. The game is also available on Game Pass.
