id Software have released a new trailer for their highly anticipated shooter Doom: The Dark Ages, showcasing brutal combat, a brand new realm, enemy types and a deadly new weapon.

Doom: The Dark Ages is just around the corner and today, id Software, the developer of this highly anticipated title, have shared a brand new trailer, giving us a detailed look at some of the never-before-seen content.

The trailer highlights Cosmic Realm, a brand new world in Doom: The Dark Ages, which combines Lovecraftian themes with Doom's traditional level and enemy design. This resulted in new enemy types like the monstrous Cosmic Baron and a new variation of Cacodemon with tentacles, which can be pretty deadly if you get close to this new baddie.

As for the new realm, it has a totally different vibe when compared to Doom's hellish landscapes. It's moody with massive buildings and unlike anything we've seen in Doom before. Oh, and Cthulhu is there, too!

There's a new weapon too and it's quite something. Think of it as a mace launcher that you can use to tear the monsters a new one from a distance. It's not clear if this weapon is exclusive to the Cosmic Realm or players will be able to use it everywhere once their get their hands on it.
