EA released an FAQ about Criterion's upcoming racing title, Need for Speed: Unbound, which included the PC specs as well as the performance targets for the consoles.
It appears the devs did a thorough job when it comes to optimisation as the game is supposed to run at 60 FPS at 4K on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and the PC specs don't seem to be too high.
Minimum requirements for NFS: Unbound on PC are:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or IntelCore i5-8600 or equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB
- GPU: AMD RX 570 or NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti or equivalent
- DirectX 12 Compatible video card
- Disk space: 50GB
Recommended system requirements include:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700 or equivalent
- Memory: 16GB
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX5700 or GeForce RTX 2070
- Disk space: 50GB
In the time when most AAA games are gobbling up over 100GB of disk space, it is refreshing to see one that requires just half of that.
On top of that, it is nice to see that mid-tier components from six years ago are enough to run the game even though it looked amazing in the trailers so far. That said, don't expect to play with maxed out details if you're sporting a good ol' 1050 Ti.
