Need for Speed: Unbound just got its first gameplay trailer, which gave us a closer look at the driving mechanics, the anime visual effects and deep vehicle customisation.
EA and Criterion Games confirmed that the anime effects can be turned off entirely, which is certainly good news for those who never liked such a style in the first place.
Additionally, the trailer reveals that the effects will be in-game items that you can earn and activate for your vehicle. It's certainly a different approach to vehicle customisation and something that we haven't seen from the Need for Speed series before but we like it.
While the trailer doesn't feature a lot of gameplay, there are still some snippets that show us how the effects look in action. It's still very hard to judge the feel of the actual racing but we assume driving mechanics won't be far away from those in previous Need for Speed games. So, expect arcade racing.
Need for Speed: Unbound promises ultimate street racing and deep vehicle customisation as well as a vibrant soundtrack from artists from all over the world.
Need for Speed: Unbound is officially coming on December 2, 2022, to PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
