Mortal Kombat film finds its Liu Kang, Raiden, Jax and Mileena

Mortal Kombat film has found its Liu Kang, Raiden, Jax and Mileena actors according to the latest reports. Liu Kang will be played by Aquaman's Ludi Lin, Supergirl actor Mehcad Brooks is Jax while Thor Raganork's Tadanobu Asano is Raiden.

Earlier this year, the pre-production of Mortal Kombat film has officially kicked off in South Australia. We already got some initial details about the film's cast but not a lot has been said about the film despite the growing interest from many hardcore Mortal Kombat fans. 

Today, we have some fresh info from about Mortal Kombat cast from Hollywood Reported. According to the report, Mortal Kombat film has just grabbed itself several key roles - Liu Kang, Raiden, Jax and Mileena.

Supergirl actor Mehcad Brooks, Thor: Ragnarok actor Tadanobu Asano, Australian newcomer Sisi Stringer and Power Rangers actor Ludi Lin are stepping into the ring for the project.

Brooks will be playing Jackson "Jax" Briggs, the Special Forces muscleman who is a mainstay in the games. Stringer is Mileena, the unstable, sai-jabbing assassin; Lin is Liu Kang, one of the game's iconic characters. Asano, a veteran actor in his native Japan, is in negotiations to play Raiden, the Japanese god of thunder.

Apparently, New Line Cinema are aiming to have a diverse international cast to properly reflect the global nature of the beloved franchise, with actors coming from worlds of martial arts, film and television.

Recently, it's also been officially confirmed that Joe Taslim will play Sub-Zero. You may know Taslim from the brutal action film The Raid. He also appeared in Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Beyond.

Mortal Kombat filming is scheduled to start later this year in southern Australia with Larry Kasanoff, E. Bennett Walsh, Michael Clear and Sean Robins behind the helm.

As for the release date, the company aim to deliver the reboot on 05 March 2021.
