We've known for a while that Monster Hunter: World's expansion Iceborne is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2019, with the PC one sometime in winter, and now Capcom announced that Steam will be getting it in January 2020.

This means that Monster Hunter: World players on Steam will have to wait another five months after PS4 and Xbox One versions to take Iceborne out for a spin.

Unfortunately, we didn't get an exact date for Capcom's chilly expansion but it's safe to assume it won't be long after you've sobered up from that New Year's party.

As far as content goes, Iceborne takes players to Hoarfrost Reach, the largest Monster Hunter: World location yet, so there will be plenty of exploring to do.

Sprinkled across Hoarfrot Reach are hot springs that provide temporary relief from the cold, and there's the new HQ as well, although it's more on the luxury side. Capcom's last revealed the home base that actually lets you splash water ar other players.

Also coming with Iceborne are Squad Cards, which allow players to check out different squads and find the one to their liking, and there's the new difficulty level too.

Capcom said that many three-player teams that saw one player drop out found the experience a more challenging that they would've liked, so Monster Hunter: World Iceborne comes with a difficulty level tailored for duos.

As you'd expect, Iceborne will come with a ton of new Palico gadgets and a cosmetic update of your room, but checking out others' cribs is a feature Capcom will deliver after the release.

We're hoping that this means PCs will get it immediately when it comes on Steam, since Capcom will have had time to iron out any quirks on consoles, but we can't be sure.
