Monster Hunter Rise is reportedly set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass in January 2023.
Capcom are set to release Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in January 2023 according to the latest report from Insider Gaming. Additionally, this popular monster-hunting title will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the same day it launches on the current-gen consoles.
The release date for the base game is set for January 20, 2023, while the Sunbreak expansion is expected later in Spring 2023.
Monster Hunter Rise will offer 4K 60FPS mode and support 3D audio, it's stated in the report.
Monster Hunter Rise was initially released on Nintendo Switch in March 2021 and on PC in January 2022. It's interesting that tCapcom left the current-gen consoles last but better late than never.
If the rumour is indeed true, we expect to hear about these ports very soon, perhaps even at The Game Awards 2022 show, which airs later in December. We assume Capcom will have more improvements for this version of the game, especially in the graphics department.
Capcom recently announced that the Monster Hunter franchise is heading to mobile so it's safe to say that the publisher are looking to aggressively expand their most valuable IP to as many platforms as possible.
Also, we expect to hear some news about a new major Monster Hunter game in the near future.
