Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 arrives June 30, bringing back Lagiacrus and Seregios, introducing Arch Tempered Uth Duna and adding layered weapons for stylish hunting.

Monster Hunter Wilds fans have a reason to celebrate on June 30, as Capcom has announced details for Title Update 2 and revealed a new trailer.

It features the expected return of the popular monsters Lagiacrus and Seregios from previous Monster Hunter titles, both of which have received updates and new mechanics.

Capcom also said that a few fan-requested features are included in the update, like the much-requested layered weapons and a new photo mode feature.

Monster Hunters Lagiacrus and Seregios Return With Unique Mechanics

Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter Wilds trailer announces the expected return of two monster staples. Lagiacrus, a fan-favorite from Monster Hunter Tri, has a significant return and should come with a new mechanic of underwater combat.

Lagiacrus returns with both a full armor set and a new weapon line to shake up the current meta of Monster Hunter Wilds. If underwater combat makes a return, this will be a huge boon for new dynamics in Monster Hunter after a noticeable absence after the third generation of the series.

Seregios, meanwhile, returns with its usual air-based attacks and status inflictions. The imposing dinosaur is also making a comeback in Title Update 2 with its own armor set and weapon line. Monster Hunter Wilds players should have a new rival to test their agility and gear loadouts against.

Layered Weapons Let Hunters Fight in Style

Title Update 2 also features the much-requested feature of layered weapons. While not a full rework, players will be able to create custom builds with their favorite weapon stats while retaining their chosen visual style.

Layered weapons unlock by crafting the final weapon in a line, so hunters that choose to stick to specific lines like Rathalos or Nargacuga will be rewarded for their commitment.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Arch Tempered Uth Duna and More

Arch Tempered Uth Duna is also being introduced in Title Update 2, coming with a Gamma armor set and a much more punishing fight. In addition, Capcom has said there are new photo mode filters and character display options coming to Monster Hunter Wilds.

Hunters will have new ways to capture their best hunts in Title Update 2, which will also have a new Fender guitar emote as part of a special collaboration celebrating Monster Hunter’s 20th anniversary.

Capcom also teased more events and additional content on the way for the summer, and said it has much more planned for Monster Hunter Wilds following Title Update 2.

Players will be able to catch Lagiacrus and Seregios in the wild, along with all the new features and content, on June 30 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
