Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is bringing a huge change to multiplayer loadouts it's been recently confirmed by design director Geoff Smith. Players will now be able to swap their weapon attachments in-game, not only between matches.
As we get closer and closer to the release date for Infinity Ward's upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, more details about the game are surfacing almost daily.
In their latest post on Activision's blog, Infinity Ward's design director Geoff Smith talked about rebuilding weapons, in-depth gunsmith customisations and also mentioned that in Modern Warfare players will be able to swap their weapon attachments on the fly.
This means that you will be able to tweak your gun mid-match and won't have to wait for the match to end to change attachment that may suit your playstyle better.
"For years we thought that if someone was able to edit their Loadout in-game they would be AFK, but with so many different attachments, it’s fun to switch out the stuff on the fly. Everybody scoffed at it when we first said we wanted to put it in, but it feels so good when you quickly change to a different attachment depending on the situation. Instant gratification!," Smith explained in the blog post.
Loadout changes during matches were not available in earlier Call of Duty games and Modern Warfare will be the first game to have such a neat feature. Many would argue that this takes away from the realism that Modern Warfare is aiming for, but Infinity Ward made it clear a couple of times that fun factor is the most important part of the reboot.
Anway, Smith also confirmed what exactly you will be able to change during matches. You can select from Primary and Secondary guns, grenades, killstreaks and Field Upgrades. That's more or less everything you can select before the match starts.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is out on 25 October 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
