Infinity Ward's upcoming reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is inching closer to the release date, which is set for later this year. Of course, the hype train is in full swing and not a day goes by that we don't get new details about the game.
Today is no different and new information comes directly from Activision, who recently held their investors call, where they talked about the company's earlier results and also shared their plans for the upcoming titles, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
According to Activision Chief Operating Officer (COO) Coddy Johnson, Infinity Ward's reboot has more DLC than any Call of Duty game in the history of the franchise. Yes, all the way from the original Call of Duty to the latest Black Ops 4, the new game offers more in terms of post-launch content.
"Fans will get a first taste of the action in our multiplayer open beta in September. We have a number of surprises in store after that, including the largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history," said Johnson during the earnings call.
Unfortunately, Johnson did not mention what type of DLC they have planned. We already know that Infinity Ward and Activision will release a bunch of multiplayer maps, which will be free to all players in order to keep the Call of Duty community closer together.
Since the maps will be free, the only DLC we can think off would be cosmetic items like skins, operators and clothing items for operators.
Furthermore, it's possible that one of these "surprises" Johnson mentioned could be the , which will be completely free according to Twitter user LongSensation.

Whatever Infinity Ward and Activision have in store for us, Modern Warfare is shaping up to become one of the biggest games in the series. Hopefully, we get to say the same once it launches on 25 October 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
