Minecraft, the ever-evolving and enormously popular sandbox game by Mojang Studios, has received another important update for its Bedrock Edition.
The Version 1.20.70/71 was just released and it made a number of changes to the game mechanics as well. This includes the way Wolves and Bogged Mobs react and function, a new feature called Wind Charge, and the Vault and more.
Besides those, there are a tonne of bug fixes and experimental features to keep the gaming experience new and entertaining for players worldwide. Here's what we can expect from this update:
Vanilla Parity
Mobs
- Wolves can now take the same amount of damage as in the Java Edition.
- Existing tamed wolves must be fed to reach their maximum health.
- The Java Edition will be updated to match the new Bedrock Edition implementation.
Experimental Features
Wind Charge
- Become the Breeze! Using a Wind Charge will fire off a Wind Charge projectile similar to the Breeze's
- A Wind Charge shot by a player grants 10% greater knockback than a breath's Wind
- Charges launched by the player, like the Breeze's projectiles, cause damage if they directly impact a creature.
- When slain, the Breeze drops 4–6 wind charges, with a maximum stack size of 64.
- There is a half-second cooldown after each use.
- Wind charges can be discharged from the dispenser.
- Players who launch themselves with a wind charge accumulate fall damage below the y-level of where they collided with the wind burst.
Bogged
- A new type of skeleton that shoots toxic arrows.
- Has the possibility of dropping arrows of poison when killed by players.
Vault
- A block containing trapped treasure and loot; discover the appropriate key to eject its rewards.
- It can be unlocked by an unlimited number of players.
- Contains a keyhole that will open or close based on the players nearby.
- Within its cage, it will cycle through and display objects that can be ejected from the treasure table.
- Every time it is unlocked, the goodies it ejects are randomly selected from its treasure table.
- Vaults are currently using the same treasure table that was previously used to reward chests in the Trial Chambers.
- This item is not craftable or mineable in survival mode, and it does not drop any items. It is also resistant to explosions and cannot be moved.
Of all these, the Wind Charge feature sounds the most interesting and fun, and we can't wait to try it out. Lastly, the vault feature also appears to be a great way to obtain loot and treasure. So gather your friends and get ready to explore these features yourselves.
