Metro Exodus expansion Sam's Story gets a trigger-happy launch trailer

Sam's Story, Metro Exodus' second major expansion, has finally arrived and if 4A Games' launch trailer is anything to go by, breathing room will be in short supply. While it may be a different protagonist, though, it's still the same, gorgeous Metro Exodus.

"Sams Story follows former US Marine turned Spartan Ranger Sam on his quest to return home. After the events of Metro Exodus, Sam's long-held dream of returning to his homeland doesn't seem so far-fetched anymore", the dev wrote.

Metro Exodus players will be taking Sam through Vladivostok's harbours, or whatever's left from them after all the tsunamis, as well as the decrepit remnants of the city's industrial and residential districts. His dream is to get back home to the USand Sam's Story is practically a huge sandbox survival level.

4A Games promise a more challenging experience this time around, and we're sure Metro Exodus players won't mind. "To complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as his surroundings prove to be far trickier than expected. The journey ends here", they wrote,

Metro Exodus' weapons arsenal is being freshened up with two new additions tailored to the protagonist - a burst-fire assault rifle and "his trusted pistol, the Stallion".

Sam's Story definitely sports that Metro Exodus shine and if it plays as fun as it looks, 4A Games should have another winner on their hands.

While we're talking about trailers though, we thought you won't mind seeing 4A Games' magnificent trailer Artyom's Nightmare again - we sure didn't. If you somehow missed it, however, then sit back and brace yourself. You'll thank us later.
