Lower FPS is a major nuisance once you get used to better performance, and can often impact how you perform as a player. With PUBG, this issue is taken one step further, since low frames per second reduce recoil on fast firing weapons.

WackyJacky101 was at it once again with recoil charts, but this time in a special edition - he tested several guns against different performances. His results were rather appalling, as he figured out that the lower FPS a player has, the less recoil these guns will have.

Groza, M416 and Vector all showed major changes in recoil patterns at over 180 FPS, 60 FPS and 30 FPS. Therefore, the players with the best gaming rigs could potentially find themselves at a disadvantage. When WackyJacky101 tested slower firing weapons, such as AKM and SCAR, he noticed that the recoil patterns didn't change that much.

Thus, the conclusion was that PUBG had more time to normalize the recoil between frames, when only 30 of them happened in a second, as opposed to 60 and 180. When a gun shoots faster at 30 FPS, the game doesn't have enough time to process all the bullets within one frame and eventually sticks them into a single spot in order to compensate.

A Reddit user named MutuTutu a flaw in WackyJacky101's study though, as he tested the AKM only in frame rate environments where the gun's rate of fire (10 bullets per second) syncs up perfectly with the frame rate. He suggested slight alterations, such as 31 frames per second so it goes out of sync, and found even more issues. MutuTutu's investigation yielded an entire that shows the best frame rate for each gun in order to minimize the recoil.

MutuTutu's spreadsheet may look confusing in the beginning, but it is also colour coded. The greener the value, the closer it will be to number one, and it will have more recoil. On the other hand, the higher values will stay truer to each weapon's DPS.
