A brand new update is now live on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds test server. 7.2 patch brings the long-awaited Ranked Mode, weapon balance tweaks, and changes to Gas Tank.
PUBG Corp have released another major update for their mega-popular battle royale title PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The patch 7.2 is already live on the game's test servers and it brings a wide variety of new tweaks, additions and quality of life improvements.
The biggest highlight of the update is the new Ranked system which replaces Survival Title. From now on, only matches played in the new and separate Ranked mode will count towards your rank, which will increase or decrease after each match based on your performance.
Ranked mode games will be played on Erangel, Miramar and Sanhok with random rotations. The mode will operate under its own game settings which include increased loot spawns, no Crossbows, removed Red Zone and Motor glider.
As for the weapon balancing, the devs increased reload times for M416, M16A4 and SCAR-L. On top of this, M16A4, MK47 Mutant now have decreased recoil when firing in quick succession in semi-auto and bursts mode.
The Gas Tank can now be equipped in the melee weapon slot. This allows you to pour gas on the ground and set the fuel on fire with gunshots, Molotov or grenades. The new feature opens new tactical opportunities and can be helpful in certain situations.
The new update also introduces a bunch of other changes and tweaks and you can read more about these in the official patch notes.
