Following a disappointing season with what was meant to ba a superteam, the League of Legends part of Team Liquid is looking to invest in younger talent.
Team Liquid has had a rather forgettable season in League of Legends , which was crowned by the failure to qualify for World Championship 2022. It was hard to imagine this would happen when the roster consisted of Bwipo, Santorin, Bjergsen, Hans Sama and CoreJJ, but here we are.
Not long after the playoffs knockout, Steve Arhancet announced that there would be significant changes for the next season but didn't reveal what exactly those changes are.
Now it appears that the team will look to their academy roster to replace a few stars that could be looking to find a different home.
Eyla and Yeon are reportedly the closest to making the main roster as the duo have had a fantastic season in Academy and Proving Grounds, both of which they were ultimately the champions of.
Considering the high profile of CoreJJ and Hans Sama, Team Liquid also stands to save a lot of money with the less-known academy players but for that to happen, they would have to sell the duo's contracts first.
There is some urgency with CoreJJ since his contract expires the next November but Hans Sama's contract is there until November 2024 and it remains to be seen if anyone is willing to buy him off of TL.
