League of Legends has announced their fighting game, currently called Project L by Riot Games, in 2019. Only recently they have come out with additional information regarding the development.
In their recent dev talk, the developers have talked about champion identity and champion fantasy. Meaning that, for champions to be included in the game, developers must first discover what makes them unique, and then focus on that aspect to bring it to the fighting game.
So, with champions such as Yuumi or Zilean, we can't really imagine them being a good fit for a fighting game. Up until now, Riot have shown us, via various media, the following champion that will take part in Project L:
- Ekko
- Illaoi
- Jinx
- Katarina
- Darius
- Ahri
Darius and Ahri were the first two champions shown, in the first teaser of the game itself. At the time, the teaser was a mere start of a start of the project, and we hope that they've improved upon what we've seen since.
Similarly, Ekko and Jinx were shown together, in a far better setting, engaged in a duel as well. While Katarina and Illaoi have both been the stars of their own show, with Illaoi being the latest champion confirmed coming to Project L, and bash some skulls in.
