Jagged Alliance 3 has players running all over the place and looting all kinds of fun weapons to use against the enemies and machine guns were the best weapon of choice when dealing with hordes.
Following the nerfs Haemimont threw in on August 3, 2023, that title will remain in-tact as the changes are barely noticeable on mercs who are built for the role.
The nerfs will be felt on those who are not specialised, however.
All machine guns suffered around a 10 per cent damage nerf along with the number of interrupt attacks now being based on how much AP the merc has instead of their maximum AP. Additionally, the machine gun interrupts will not get aim bonuses they weren't supposed to, which was the case before the patch.
With these changes, the nerfs will mostly be felt on mercs who have low agility or don't have the Heavy Weapons trait, which reduces AP usage with these weapons. The number of bursts will be reduced and your ability to level hordes of enemies will be severely diminished.
Mercs like Grizzly or Raven shouldn't feel the nerfs at all since they land almost 100 per cent of their shots anyway and will have a lot of reaction shots regardless.
