Helldivers 2 became Steam's top-selling game globally with a staggering 150,000 concurrent players since its launch on February 8, 2024, on both PC and PS5. And while Arrowhead Studios and Sony have plenty of reasons to celebrate, the launch certainly could have gone a bit better in terms of server and game stability as players have continued to report some major issues that stopped them from enjoying this shooter.
In some cases, some of these issues prevented players from playing the game at all. For example: the issue with AMD 7000 series GPUs, stuck at the "Press any button" screen, etc. are just to name a few.
To tackle these issues, Arrowhead Game Studios released Patch 1.000.005 across all platforms. Let's take a look at what exactly this update fixes.
Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.005: All Major Updates and Changes
Right off the bat, according to this social media post by Helldivers 2, this patch:
- Addresses server capacity issues
- Solves Login-in and progression issues
- Solves Authentication request failure issue
Arrowhead Game Studios further added that they will release future events with increased rewards to compensate players for their troubles and continued cooperation.
Helldivers 2 Patch 1.000.005 details:
- The authentication request process has been simplified.
- Solved the issue where players didn't receive rewards for completing missions.
- Optimized server capacity issues.
- Resolved log-in issues players faced.
- Fixed the daily progress errors.
- Improved error message visibility
- Added a countdown timer
- Compensate players for the rewards they lost with a new increased reward event.
Despite these fixes, there are still many issues and problems Helldivers 2 has yet to resolve. But we can rest assured that the dev team is working tirelessly to resolve them.
So far Helldivers 2's rating has improved and is currently standing at a 75% positive rating. So if you haven't tried the game already, we recommend you wait for the game to receive a few more updates so you have a much smoother gameplay experience.
