Hawken originally charmed the mech combat fans and ran for a while until a shutdown that many thought would be final. However, 505 Games are returning the game to PC via Steam and the release date is May 17, 2023.
This comeback, roughly five years after shutdown, is going through Early Access first, which is somewhat odd for a rerelease of what was once a complete game.
It is currently unclear whether it's because of the Early Access status but it appears that Hawken Reborn is exclusively a PvE title.
On top of that, Steam notes that the game is a singleplayer one and still has microtransactions.
This will likely take the wind out of the hype sails for many original fans but it is not excluded that PvP will be added later on, provided that multiplayer gets integrated at all.
Having microtransactions is always bad but it is especially annoying when a singleplayer game has them since there is no excuse to add something like that when you are not competing with peers or trying to catch up to them.
Minimum requirements for Hawken Reborn are rather humble but the recommended ones are yet to be added.
