Kratos and Atreus customisation is going partially free for a limited time, via PS Network. Owners of God of War can pick up six different cosmetic items at no extra charge until 6 January 2019, which will most likely get Cory Balrog a few more hardcore fans.
God of War cosmetics that will be available for free for the duration of the Holiday giveaway are:
- Death's Vow armour set for Kratos
- Death's Vow armour set for Atreus
- Exile's Guardian shield skin
- Buckler of the Forge shield skin
- Shining Elven soul-shield skin
- Dökkenshieldr shield skin
All the players need to do is go to the , add the items for free and download them. Following a successful download, you can begin a new game and all the items will be available for customisation at the start of the Deer hunt.
Considering God of War is one of those singleplayer titles that provided players with a sense of joy while going through the duo's Nordic adventures, Cory Barlog and the entire SIE Santa Monica studio earned a ton of goodwill from the fans already. The giveaway was not a way to "bribe" the audience after a shortcoming, which became the norm in AAA space these days, which should further cement them as one of the more beloved developers.
Since we are more than a year away from the last instalment in the franchise, it is not excluded that a new announcement may be in the pipeline, which would only flare up the fans' hype further.
Whatever the case turns out to be, those who already played the game through may want to give it another swing with the new cosmetic goodies.
