Genshin Impact has taken the gaming industry by storm and the player base keeps growing by each day. Recent leaks have revealed pretty much all of the content that we are going to see in the upcoming 2.0 update.
After a couple of "filler updates", players were unhappy that we didn't get a new region since the Dragonspine event back at the start of 2021 when we had both Albedo and Ganyu featured on separate banners. Even though many players rolled for Venti and Zhongli, the fan base isn't too happy about the fact that we had two banner re-runs in a single update. We even had a Keqing banner during the 1.4 update.
Luckily miHoYo decided to step their game up and introduce a new major region known as Inazuma. Even though the Inazuma update just came out, the fanbase started discussions about a new region. Chasm is a region many players were predicting to arrive before Inazuma since the name already made its way to the game's map, southwest from the Liyue region.
A recent tweet from a credible Genshin Impact leaker has revealed some additional information about Chasm. According to the Genshin Report Twitter profile, we won't be able to play through Chasm in 2021. Apparently, it will arrive after the Lantern Rite event which means that we can expect a new region on the second update of 2022. This means that Chasm could be arriving around February 20.
The main reason many players are hyped about Chasm is the introduction of the Dendro element which already exists in the game, but it's not playable. Two main characters related to Dendro are Baizhu and Yaoyao. Baizhu has already made an appearance in a couple of quests in Liyue.
