The release of a new character is probably one of the most exciting events in Genshin Impact. After miHoYo confirmed the two banner re-runs for the 1.4 update, we can expect a couple of new characters to get released in 1.5.
Since his introduction through the quest "Guizhong", Baizhu has become one of the most anticipating characters in the world of Teyvat. There are multiple leaks on what we can expect in the 1.5 update but almost all of them have one thing in common - the release of two Dendro characters, Baizhu and Yaoyao. We've already talked about Yaoyao and it's almost certain that she's going to be a free-to-play Dendro character.
A picture from a credible Genshin Impact leaker, which accurately predicted most of the 1.4 content, also revealed that Baizhu could be joining the character roster in the first banner cycle of 1.5.

Baizhu will be the first five-star Dendro character in the game. He is often seen with his pet snake Changsheng draped around his neck like a scarf. We still have no official information about Dendro and how it will interact with other elements in terms of elemental reactions. Many fans are predicting an elemental reaction mechanic similar to the Geo and Anemo elements which have the ability to only trigger Crystalize and Swirl.
As for his weapon, he could become the first male Catalyst user in the game which is apparently already confirmed by multiple data miners. He will most likely play a key part in the upcoming Qiqi story quest, considering that his so far appearances have always been related to her.
