Game of Thrones creator, George R.R Martin has confirmed work on a video game out of Japan in his latest blog post. Martin said he consulted on a game, adding fuel to From Software's new game rumours that appeared on 4Chan and ResetEra.

According to some earlier rumours, the creators of Dark Souls series and Bloodborne - From Software - are working with Game of Thrones writer George R.R Martin on their new game.

This bit of info was first revealed back in March 2019, when YouTuber named Spawn Wave claimed that Japanese developer are working with Martin on an ambitious open-world game.

In his latest blog post, where he discussed the ending of Game of Thrones, George R.R Martin revealed his plans for the future and current works, which include a Japanese game.

"There are these short films I am hoping to make, adaptations of classic stories by one of the most brilliant, quirky, and original writers our genre has ever produced. I’ve consulted on a video game out of Japan. And then there’s Meow Wolf," Martin wrote in his post.

Is this as good as the official confirmation? Well, not really, but it makes the earlier rumours sound pretty legit and it looks like From Software's new game is indeed made in collaboration with Martin.

In the earlier video, Spawn Wave revealed that the game would feature several regions or kingdoms as he calls them and players would choose which region to go to. Each of these regions would have their own unique bosses with unique abilities. Once players defeat the boss, they take its unique ability and add it to their own arsenal.

As for George R.R Martin's part in this new project, Spawn Wave claims that Martin is "realising the world of the game, or creating the world that you'll be playing trough." Also, writing will be done by Martin and he would help to "kinda flesh out the world".

Leaks on 4Chan and ResetEra also revealed a bunch of new details about the game today, but the open world segment is missing from these so take them with a grain of salt. You can check more on that .
