After five years of teasing, Full Circle's development team has finally announced that long-anticipated Skate reboot will go through early access in 2025. First teased back in 2020, the new Skate game has been in development for a while.
Outside of the initial message from fans that this game from EA and Full Circle would be coming before the year 2050, today we have a real rough estimate: 2025. It'll be launching as early access and will include the city of San Vansterdam to traverse and core skateboarding mechanics to try out ahead of its full release.
What's interesting with the title is that the approach it's taking, because, while most releases find ways to release a product whole, Skate has been in test form for PC owners for well over a year, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S playtests due this fall.
Even then, it won't be finished when it goes into early access-a testament to Full Circle's commitment to refining gameplay through player feedback. Unlike other installments, this reboot is a free-to-play title; the core experience of skateboarding does not cost any money.
Still, there will be a lot of cosmetics available for purchase within the game. Full Circle makes sure to reassure fans that no pay-to-win mechanics exist since anything in-game can be earned through playing the game.
