Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PlayStation, and it’s not going to take players until 2027 to get it. Playground Games confirmed that the open-world racer will launch on PS5 this year, coming to the console after debuts on Xbox consoles and PC.
Players wondering about a PS5 version have been waiting for some sort of confirmation for months. Forza Horizon 6 was announced all the way back in 2025 with Microsoft only stating that it would come to Xbox consoles and PC, while a PlayStation release would arrive at a later date.
It’s finally been confirmed that date will be this year, although we still don’t know when.
Forza Horizon 6 is releasing on PS5 later this year
It was quietly announced on a new blog post from the Forza team. Covering the British Automotive update and new Drift Attack feature for Forza Horizon 6, the post confirmed that players can expect the game on PS5 later this year.
“If you’re planning on diving into our take on Japan on PS5,” Playground Games said, “stay tuned.”
That’s all we know so far. There is still no release date, though some are hoping we’ll hear more during Tokyo Game Show 2026. Forza Horizon 6 did show up at last year’s event, so it’s not out of the question that more news will arrive then. But we’ll have to wait and see if anything is officially announced.
In the meantime, players can look forward to the new Drift Attack feature, which is coming to Forza Horizon 6 permanently. Alongside it is the ability to unlock the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition, and the Horizon Stadium will get a new takeover that players can spin to win one of three new cars:
- 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed
- 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior
- 2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR
PlayStation gamers will just have to wait until we learn a bit more about the forthcoming title. What we do know for sure is that Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PS5 this year.
