There's less than a day left until Epic's collaboration with director J. J. Abrams, which will have an exclusive scene from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker screened in the game, in Risky Reels. The dev announced that everyone who attends gets a free gift too.

"director J.J. Abrams revealed that Fortnite will premiere exclusive, never-before-seen Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker footage in-game on Saturday, December 14 @ 2pm ET live at Risky Reels. Everyone that attends the in-game event will also receive a free TIE Whisper Glider, a starfighter of speed and ferocity", they wrote.

As you'd expect from an event of such scale, there's a bunch of premium cosmetics to be bought in Fortnite's Item Shop. A lot of it has received the Star Wars treatment so that you can come to the screening in style. We're not sure about whether there will be a red carpet or anything.

Fortnite has received the v11.30 patch yesterday, but Epic are sticking to their skimpy release notes format. In other words, they only listed the highlights, like Split Screen on consoles and some cosmetics-viewing improvements. Yes, you'll be able to play Fortnite in Duos or Squads on a single PS4 or Xbox One console.

Other than that, the dev is pretty set on keeping quiet about more meaningful Fortnite changes, most likely as a means of preventing players from kicking up a ruckus every time Epic tweak a gun. See you in Risky Reels then.

If you're that dedicated to finding out about the changes, you can do so from the crowdsourced patch notes  on FortniteCompetitive subreddit, where Fortnite's community listed snowed-in regions, Shiver Inn and Crackshot's Cabin landmarks, breakable Iceblocks giving weapons and items, and more.
