Epic Games have announced another competitive event for Fortnite, but this time it's the returning Solo Showdown limited time mode, which is already underway. The prize pool does not consist of real life currency, but is still enticing.
While Solo Showdown is already underway, players will still have plenty of time to qualify for one of the rewards, provided they are good and blessed by matchmaking enough. The grand prize will be 50.000 V-Bucks, while second to fourth place will take home 25.000 V-Bucks.
You don't need to be the absolute creme of the crop to get something out of it though, as fifth to 50th place will be awarded 13.500 V-Bucks and the remainder of top 100 will win 7.500 V-Bucks. On top of these rewards, top performers may be invited for future Summer Skirmish events, where they might actually win real life money. Let's be honest though, that money is just going to end up exchanged for V-Bucks anyway.
Players will need to play 25 matches in Solo Showdown in order to get into the leaderboards, which will be periodically updated by Epic Games' staff. You can check the standings on the . Do note that you will need to play all of the 25 matches within the same region, with NAW and NAE being considered to be the same region for this contest.
All of the matches will need to be concluded before 10:00 AM EST or 16:00 CEST on Monday, 30 July 2018. In order to be eligible, players will need to be 16 years of age or older, play on an account registered before 18 July 2018 and be a valid Fortnite licensee. In other words, you need to agree to the EULA.
