Even though Jetpacks were expected in Fortnite quite a while ago, Epic pulled them at the last moment prior to an update, which is the last we've heard of them. Well, until now, as latest data mines revealed Jetpacks, Gnomes and more.
You may recall Jetpacks throughout the month of February 2018, but Epic decided against it just prior to v3.1.0 patch hitting Fortnite: Battle Royale. The data mining leaks, however, may hold a clue as to why Epic decided to postpone it.
The Fortnite leak suggests players will have tasks such as "Skydive through floating rings", which are most likely another future feature and "Place a Cozy Campfire", a task which was already featured in both Weekly challenges and regular ones. Apparently, using a Jetpack will be one of them.

Of course, other than the fact it will arrive, we still don't know how exactly Epic plans to implement jetpack mechanics in Fortnite. At the moment, it's anyone's guess, so we guess it's best to wait until the gods of Epic come down and explain it to us simpletons.
Fortnite: Battle Royale data files have also received an entry dubbed the "Gnice Gnomes", which now sits snuggly among the other Quest Interactables, as Epic calls them, such as Hidden Stars, and , all of which are part of Battle Pass owners' weekly challenges.

A reddit leak revealed that the so called Gnice Gnomes will actually be featured in Week 7 challenges for Fortnite Battle Pass holders, along with several other tasks.
In fact, Fortnite's Week 7 challenges will include dealing 500 damage with Shotguns, eliminating three opponents in Shifty Shafts, eliminate three opponents with Suppressed weapons and there's even a map.
Now, Fortnite players will have a task to "Search Chests in Lonely Lodge", seven of them to be exact, even though the leaked map seems to suggest the latter task, which is "Follow the treasure map found in Retail Row".

The remaining Fortnite challenges are along the lines of what we've already seen, so nothing special there. However, at least we know Epic ain't quitting on the idea of Jetpacks in their Battle Royale champ and we sincerely can't wait to try it out.
