Epic Games Store has updated the weekly free offerings with Dying Light: Enhanced Edition and Shapez on April 6, 2023.
Dying Light is the well-known and beloved zombie survival game that added parkour into the mix and won everyone's hearts with it. The game's world was recently enriched with another instalment, Dying Light 2, which was somewhat buggy at launch but it didn't spoil the overall experience too much. Needless to say, it is highly advised you pick this up before the time runs out.
The other freebie of the week, Shapez, is basically Factorio with a different art style but going deep enough into the gameplay, there are bound to be some differences. Still, it is all about building production lines.
On April 13, 2023, the freebie offerings will switch to Mordhau and Second Extinction.
The first of the two is all about medieval combat as the game pits players against each other in massive battles that emulate the time period of knights with great detail. It is also the birthplace of an absolute gem of a meme-tastic video that we urge you not to dodge.
Second Extinction is more about co-op, however, and it is best described as a title with great gameplay and terrible writing. If you are willing to risk or tolerate cringing every few minutes, then the game is going to be a great addition to anyone's library.
To claim the freebies, simply go to the EGS home page, scroll down a little and click on the games you wish to claim, at which point the process becomes rather straightforward.
