Elden Ring fans who play on Xbox Series X|S or PC will be happy to hear that a brand new Limited Edition controller themed around the upcoming expansion Shadow of Erdtree is coming next month.
The controller appeared on the PlayAsia online store along with the official promo image and a release date of February 25, 2024. As you can see in the attached images the controller is black with golden thumbsticks and gorgeous subtle art that resembles the Erdtree.
The D-pad arrows also have golden accents which is a nice touch while the rest of the buttons are black. The Xbox controller is the second Elden Ring-themed controller that leaked online recently. You may recall that we got a slide from Thrustmaster, who are also launching their special controller in February 2024.
Players who are eagerly awaiting Elden Ring expansion Shadow of Erdtree are almost certain that the controller release dates suggest the DLC is launching in February 2024 too.
Elden Ring will celebrate its two year anniversary on February 25, 2024, which could be the date when Shadow of Erdtree launches but certainly don't take this as set in stone as From Software did not announce such details.
Our gut feeling tells us that such a release date would come too soon as the developer didn't even properly reveal the expansion yet. Given that the expansion is rumoured to be quite massive, it's safe to assume that From Software and Bandai Namco would prefer a longer marketing campaign to create as much hype as possible.
Elden Ring Shadow Shadow of Erdtree expansion is expected to introduce new locations, bosses, weapons and quests among other things. It should launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
