Ever since From Software officially announced Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, we haven't heard much about this exciting upcoming release. There is no release date at the moment, and we're yet to see the actual gameplay or get any details about the new bosses, locations and everything else that should be coming with the expansion.
However, it is possible that an announcement of some form could be coming soon, more precisely at The Game Awards 2023 show, which airs on December 8, 2023.
Eagled-eyed Elden Ring fans have noticed that From Software have released a higher-than-usual amount of backend updates on Steam, which could mean some kind of content drop is on the way.
Usually, when games receive updates on Steam, which can be seen on SteamDB, official announcements follow shortly. This could be the case with Elden Ring, especially with The Game Awards just around the corner.
Geoff Keighley has previously gave From Software space at the show to announce new trailers for Elden Ring so it's safe to assume that if the Japanese team are indeed ready to give us more details, they could do that next week.
If the announcement comes at The Game Awards, we expect the first gameplay trailer, confirmation of the release date and probably pre-order details for all platforms.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is coming to PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
