Rumours about Elden Ring's upcoming DLC Shadow of Erdtree have slowly started to surface recently, suggesting that February 2024 might be a potential release date for this highly-anticipated expansion.
Recently, we learned about a collaboration between Thrustmaster and Bandai Namco on official Elden Ring controllers that could launch next month and today, we have even stronger proof that the DLC could be coming soon.
A new DLC update for Elden Ring has been spotted on SteamDB (via ResetEra). This is the first DLC package that From Software added to the game since its launch. If you're wondering if this is a strong indication that something is happening, well, yes, this is indeed a pretty big deal.
This pretty much means that the developers are preparing some sort of a release behind the scenes and given that Shadow of Erdtree is the only announced DLC, it's safe to say that this expansion is being added to Steam in the background.
Now, it's worth mentioning that nothing is officially announced at the moment apart from the key art - we don't have the release date, gameplay or any screenshots from Shadow of the Erdtree. From Software didn't talk about it much since the announcement but we're hopeful that could change in the coming weeks.
Elden Ring Shadow of Erdtree DLC is expected to introduce new locations, bosses, weapons and more when it finally launches.
Rumours suggested that the content from the expansion was initially planned to be released as several smaller DLCs but From Software decided to make it a one massive update for their critically acclaimed game.
We expect to see Shadow of Erdtree on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S but also last-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One since the base game also launched on this hardware.
