EA has revealed Patch v1.1.0 for EA SPORTS FC 26. This new update has a series of gameplay changes and quality of life improvements in order to balance defensive play, passing accuracy, and AI improvements while also enhancing the overall responsiveness and feel of player controls.
Community feedback was taken into account for this new patch, which includes a more consistent set of animations, better positioning and smarter decision-making across all modes.
In addition to the gameplay changes, this update also brings a range of improvements to Ultimate Team, Career Mode and Clubs, all while ensuring a more balanced and enjoyable experience across all platforms.
Gameplay Enhancements
The changes are primarily based around defending and passing. Artificial intelligence (AI) defending is now more assertive with better man-marking, while human-controlled players get a tighter Sprint Jockey and more believable tackle animations.
Passing is also improved, with fewer mishaps of passes going to the wrong player.
Major game mechanics alterations:
- AI defenders now man-mark more tightly and use better defensive positioning.
- First-time passing and through ball logic have been enhanced.
- Adjusted Controlled Sprint Dribble for a better sense of pace and timing.
- Goalkeeper positioning and shot-stopping has been adjusted, particularly for near-post shots and crosses.
- Fouls and referee decisions are more realistic.
Ultimate Team Improvements
Ultimate Team players will also benefit from a number of usability and tracking improvements. You can now favourite and track Objectives from the Pause Menu or UT Hub, and sort Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) by Newest or Expiry Date for more convenient management.
The following issues have also been fixed or tweaked:
- Increased stability and Transfer Market pricing.
- Fixed bugs with Objective previews, Rivals rewards, and player portraits.
- Improved Evolution previewing for more visibility of progression.
Career Mode and Clubs Changes
Career Mode sees stability improvements, along with some logical changes. Emails from the Manager Market are now less spammy, AI job security is improved, and season transitions don’t throw errors.
Social aspects and player events have been smoothed out, too. Club mode also sees role selection improvements, as well as more distinct archetype XP notifications.
Matchday also looks better in-game with all the changes to how squads look and move around. For Drop-In matches, you can now take penalties before your AI teammates, it’s just fairer in a competitive setting.
General, Audio and Visual Updates
Visually, EA has refreshed its presentation with new portraits, kits, and commentary lines. Matches also look and feel a little more cinematic, with improvements to lighting and shaders.
Bug fixes have been addressed, too, such as stability issues, camera bugs, and stadium lighting in certain areas.
Performance and responsiveness have also been improved across the board for EA SPORTS FC 26 to flow smoother and more responsively.
