EA Sports FC 25 is making a major change that's sure to please Career Mode fans. While the game is introducing live-service elements in the form of its Live Start Points feature, EA Sports has tried to quell any fears that it would directly compete with the very successful Ultimate Team UT Mode. There is, however, a new update in EA FC 25 that might tempt players to engage more with both modes.
For the first time, players will earn Season Pass XP through Career Mode objectives. Traditionally, an EA FC Season Pass has always been very Ultimate Team-focused, meaning that as players advance through each season, it rewards them in-game currency, packs, and other bonuses. Very often, this kind of setup makes the player feel left out with Career Mode rewards when they also spend so many hours playing.
With EA FC 25, all of that changes. Now, as players complete specific objectives in Career Mode, they'll earn XP that will aid in their Season Pass progression. In other words, Career Mode players can finally work on unlocking the same rewards as those playing Ultimate Team - all while playing their favorite mode.
Whether or not this update makes it possible for players to unlock every item within Ultimate Team through Career Mode remains an open question, but the change is undeniably one in the right direction.
Opportunities are now available for the Ultimate Team player to enter into what's new in Career Mode - Snapshots; and for a fan of Career Mode to dabble in Ultimate Team searching for maximum rewards.
This could be where the new approach from EA Sports finally closes the gap between the two modes, offering a much more unified and rewarding experience for players of all kinds.
But by the time of EA FC 25's launch, it will become just as fascinating to establish how this integration can bear on player engagement across both career mode and Ultimate Team.
