EA are once again saying things that no Battlefield fan wants to hear

EA have stated that the next Battlefield game will be a reimagination of the series and a truly connected ecosystem, which certainly isn't what Battlefield fans have been hoping to hear.

During the recent earnings report, EA have briefly stated that the work on the next Battlefield is underway but judging by the marketing buzzwords they've used, it's safe to say that Battlefield fans won't be overly excited for what comes next.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that the next Battlefield will be a "reimagination" of the series and that players can expect a "truly connected ecosystem", whatever that means.

If all these terms seem familiar, it's pretty much more of the same from EA, who have been promising the reimagination of Battlefield for many years now. We all remember the "all-out warfare" and "Biggest Battlefield ever" slogans that EA proudly used in the Battlefield 2042 campaign.

One thing that gives us hope that the next Battlefield will be different is the fact that EA have completely changed the development teams and hired Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto while former DICE producer David Sirland also returned to the studio.

Additionally, we know the campaign is making a return so there is still a couple of things to be excited for. But again, EA and DICE have been struggling to create a truly memorable Battlefield game ever since 2016's Battlefield 1, which is still arguably the last great Battlefield game.

Battlefield 2042 wasn't received well on launch but that's a tradition for recent Battlefield games

Over the last several years we got Battlefield V, which failed to tick all the boxes for Battlefield fans and the most recent Battlefield 2042 was even worse at launch with empty maps, no classes and overall, some very baffling design decisions.

Yet again, Battlefield fans are always hopeful that their beloved shooter series will make a big return, reaching the heights of Battlefield 4 and earlier popular titles.
