DICE has taken the gaming scene by storm with their new Battlefield 6. The newest entrant to the Battlefield series will move to a more grounded modern-era war experience.
The brand-new Battlefield title will feature new maps and game modes for players to dive into at launch. Here's a detailed look at all the maps and game modes you can expect to see in Battlefield 6.
All Maps and Game Modes in Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6 will launch with 9 maps, which includes the remaster of Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3. Here are the maps that will be available in the game on launch:
- Liberation Peak
- Empire State
- New Sobek City
- Manhattan Bridge
- Iberian Offensive
- Mirak Valley
- Siege of Cairo
- Saints Quarter
- Operation Firestorm
Battlefield 6 will feature an array of game modes, which includes the Portal game mode from Battlefield 2042. Here are all the game modes you can expect to see in Battlefield 6:
Portal
Portal allows you to take unprecedented control of your environment by moving, scaling, and duplicating objects. You can create your own game mode and custom UI. Moreover, you can design unique multiplayer experiences using NPC scripting. Ultimately, your creation can rise the ranks to become an official game mode in Battlefield 6.
Conquest
Conquest is the home of iconic all-out warfare where tanks, jets, and attack helicopters turn the tides of battle. Two teams fight to capture and hold multiple control points all over the map. Deplete enemy lives by controlling points and killing enemies. When a team’s lives hit zero, the battle’s over. Communicate, cooperate, take victory.
Breakthrough
In Breakthrough, the map is divided into sectors that players battle over one at a time. Attackers push the frontline forward. Defenders hold the line of battle. To secure a sector, attackers must hold all control points within it at the same time. Coordination is key-attacker lives are limited. The fight continues until attackers capture all sectors, or they run out of lives.
Closed Weapons Breakthrough
An intense, objective-driven mode where attackers work to secure sectors and push the front line forward, while defenders fight to hold or retake ground and drain the attackers’ limited lives - this time with the addition of class-locked weapons.
Rush
Arm and defuse. A team of attackers and defenders battles for control of a series of Military Communication systems (M-COMs). Attackers have to plant explosives at each system and prevent defenders from defusing them before they detonate. When all M-COMs are destroyed, the fight moves to the next sector. The match ends when all M-COM systems are destroyed or the attackers run out of lives.
Battlefield 6 is also launching with five modes outside of All-Out Warfare. These are a mix of modes that have been inspired by classics of FPS as well as a new mode called Escalation. All of these modes have been designed to be elevated by Battlefield’s fundamental design pillars: classes, squad-based gameplay, and a hell of a lot of destruction.
- Squad Deathmatch
- Grab a gun and squad up for a fast-paced, close-quarters deathmatch. Four squads compete for victory with one simple objective: the first to reach the kill target wins.
- Domination
- A fast-paced, close-quarters, infantry-only fight for territory. Score points by capturing and holding objectives. The first to reach the point limit wins.
- Team Deathmatch
- Pure infantry-focused, high-intensity combat. In TDM, the only objective is to take out the enemy. Most kills wins.
- King of the Hill
- Get to the point and secure it. This close-quarters battle for territory happens fast. Control points move, and cooperation is key.
- Escalation
- A brand new way to experience Battlefield’s genre-defining gameplay. From precise tactical moments to non-stop action, Escalation puts everything in a soldier’s arsenal to the test. Two teams fight to capture strategic control points. As the teams expand their territory, fewer and fewer control points remain, creating increasingly intense areas of combat. This battle for territory culminates in an all-out war, where both sides fight to control the last remaining points on the map.
The game mode roster in Battlefield 6 is almost similar to what we have seen in previous games like Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield V. Players are accustomed to playing Conquest and Breakthrough in Battlefield.
While the large-scale modes remain at the centre of attention of the majority of the players, the medium-scale or small-scale game modes like King of the Hill, Domination, and Payload are also going to get good playtime.
