Battlefield 6 is the next big title in the Battlefield series. DICE has gone all out to build Battlefield 6 into a pinnacle of large-scale shooter titles with environmental destruction and dynamic all-terrain combat.
Like every other Battlefield title in the past, players can choose classes to suit their playstyle in the game. The OG class system from Battlefield 3 and 4 makes a grand return to Battlefield 6 with new gadgets and more. Here's a deep dive into all classes in Battlefield 6.
All Classes in Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6 will feature four classes with closed and open weapon systems. The four classes each have their own role in combat, with the assault class taking close gunfights, the engineer class being in charge of destruction and repairing, the support class remaining in charge of medical duties, and the recon class being in charge of scouting and sniping. Here's a detailed look at all the classes in Battlefield 6:
Assault Class
ROLE
- The ultimate frontline fighter, designed to lead the squad through enemy defences.
SIGNATURE WEAPON
- Assault Rifle: Faster transition from sprint to firing and switching to and from Assault Rifles. The ARs in the game will help players take medium- to long-range gunfights with ease.
SIGNATURE TRAIT
- Reduced damage and movement speed penalty resulting from a fall.
SIGNATURE GADGET
- Adrenaline Injector: Clears and gives temporary resistance to flash and stun effects, boosts sprint speed, reduces explosive damage and makes enemy footsteps more audible.
ACTIVE ABILITY
- Nearby enemies that are audible become revealed for the player, with kills prolonging the effect.
TRAINING OPTIONS
- Grenadier: These units have quicker reloads on grenade launchers, can carry extra grenades, and are more resistant to flash effects.
- Frontliner: These soldiers have improved health regeneration, an additional adrenaline injector charge, and reduced penalty when shooting on the move.
Engineer Class
ROLE
- This expert is a menace to enemy vehicles and a saviour for your own.
SIGNATURE WEAPON
- Sub Machine Guns: All SMGs feature improved hip-fire control. The SMGs will give Engineers the ability to take close-range gunfights with ease while repairing the on-site vehicles like APCs and tanks.
SIGNATURE TRAIT
- Take reduced damage from explosives.
SIGNATURE GADGET
- Repair Tool: Multitool for fixing friendly assets and armour. Can also be used to damage enemy assets.
ACTIVE ABILITY
- Overloads repair tool to fix with enhanced efficiency
TRAINING OPTIONS
- Anti-Armour: A master of wreaking havoc on enemy vehicles with rockets that reduce repair effectiveness as well as extra ammunition and faster reloads for launchers.
- Combat Engineer: An expert dedicated to keeping everything in pristine shape. This soldier auto-generates the health of vehicles they’re occupying, is able to use their repair tool longer before overheating, and can automatically spot nearby mines.
Support Class
ROLE
- Every squad’s go-to option for defence, Support units keep the team in the fight with ammo, health, and revives.
SIGNATURE WEAPON
- Light Machine Guns: The Light Machine Guns will help support class players give their team cover fire when they are not busy healing and reviving other players. Does not suffer sprint speed penalty with this weapon type.
SIGNATURE TRAIT
- Can drag & revive teammates faster.
SIGNATURE GADGET
- Supply Bag: Heals allies and resupplies weapon and gadget ammo.
ACTIVE ABILITY
- Supply area of effect around self and revive speed is temporarily increased.
TRAINING OPTIONS
- Combat Medic: These units are able to function as a health dispensary for allies and also regenerate health when they’re reviving teammates.
- Fire Support: These combat experts have improved weapon control from mounted positions and can provide ammo to teammates.
Recon Class
ROLE
- Experts in intelligence and counterintelligence, recon units excel at scouting, infiltration, and deadly marksmanship.
SIGNATURE WEAPON
- Sniper Rifles: The Sniper Rifles will give recon class players the ability to take long-range gunfights while scouting the battlefield for their team. Faster rechambering between shots, decreased scope sway and improved breath control to help stabilise aim for longer.
SIGNATURE TRAIT
- Automatically spot enemies while aiming through an optic.
SIGNATURE GADGET
- Motion Sensor: This gadget tracks enemy movement in its range.
ACTIVE ABILITY
- Call in UAV to a marked position for passive spotting of enemies
TRAINING OPTIONS
- Sniper: These long-distance engagement experts have improved auto-spot speed, range, and duration. Sniper shots will highlight enemies and temporarily prevent healing, while headshots will render the struck enemy unrevivable.
- Pathfinder: These infiltration-focused commandos are undetectable by equipment except when they’re sprinting, highlight enemies they damage for the rest of the team, and can perform quieter takedowns.
The class system in Battlefield 6 will be up for display in the open beta. The return of the traditional class system and class-locked weapons system has left players with a breeze of excitement, as the majority of the player base despised the previous specialist system.
