Polish developer Techland will share more details regarding their upcoming action game Dying Light 2 in 2021. However, the devs did not say when exactly we can expect to hear more.
Dying Light 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the last couple of years but sadly, it seems that the development is not quite close to being finished. Rumours about development hell that surfaced earlier this year were rubbished by the developer but despite this, it seems like the devs had a hard time adjusting to remote work after COVID-19 pandemic hit the world.
Back in January 2020, Techland officially confirmed that the game was initially scheduled to release sometime during Spring 2020. However, the team said that they need more time to fulfil their vision for the game, which is why they delayed the game indefinitely.
Over the weekend, Techland have finally shared an update regarding Dying Light 2 and what they plan to reveal in 2021. The update was shared via their official Discord server. Techland staff wrote that they will have fresh updates in the upcoming year. Sadly, they did not say when exactly we can expect to hear more about the game, whether they plan to share a release date or a full development update.
"Happy Holidays from the Dying Light team. We've been dying to update you all on how development has been going. We'll have fresh updates about Dying Light 2 coming in the new year," they wrote.
If we had to guess, we would say Dying Light 2 is probably targeting Summer 2021 release date, though, it's of course, possible that the devs are much closer to wrapping up the project so don't be surprised if they announced a Spring 2021 release window or something similar.
At the moment, this is just speculation and you should definitely wait for a confirmation from the official Techland channels, which will, hopefully, come soon.
