Dying Light 2 developers Techland have confirmed that the game's main story is roughly 20 hours long if you rush it while the total runtime is between 40-60 hours.
Techland have revealed a couple of new details about their upcoming zombie open-world RPG Dying Light 2. Speaking to wccftech, the team gave us details about the length of the main campaign as well as a complete playthrough that includes side quests and other activities.
They state that players who usually rush through the main story campaign will be able to complete Dying Light 2's story in roughly 20 hours. While this will certainly hit a sweet spot for many players, others may think that this is a bit too short for an RPG.
However, if you want to complete side quests and other optional content that can be found in Dying Light's large open-world, then the game should be twice or thrice as long.
"If you rush it, you should be able to finish the story in roughly 20 hours," lead game designer Tymon Smektała said. "But to see it all, you’d have to spend 2-3 times more time than that. Our opening area alone can last for over 7-8 hours if you want to explore every nook and cranny, so there’s absolutely a lot to play here.”
Sounds pretty good to us and hopefully we'll finally get to see the game in action at the upcoming E3 event, after many many months of radio silence.
Dying Light 2 is officially in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It's coming sometime later this year.
