Romero Games had their own outing at E3 2019 with Empire of Sin which is a turn-based game with both tactics and RPG elements. It is a far cry from the fast-paced shooter games John Romero was known for in his early development days.
John Romero is probably best known for being a co-founder of id Software as well as his work on groundbreaking shooter games at the time, such as Doom, Wolfenstein 3D and Quake. His sights now seem to be set on not-so-high-octane games as Empire of Sin is a turn-based tactics entry on his portfolio.
It will put players in 1920s during the era of prohibition, gangsters and art deco where they will control their own gang, do odd jobs for the bigger players and grow their own influence. By doing so, players will be able to get into new activities, such as taking over rival territory.
The goal is to become the biggest mobster in town, not unlike Al Capone in Chicago. Unfortunately, the details are somewhat scarce so we don't know if there will be our own Elliot Ness and a team of law enforcers that cannot be touched.
While often compared with XCOM, Empire of Sin also reminds of This is the Police series since you are managing an organisation and turn-based combat only happens when it comes to trading blows with rival gangs or possibly the law itself.
There will be multiple ways to beat the game apparently. Players can get to the top using violence, social influence, notoriety or possibly a combination of these. According to the Steam description, this will add an immense amount of replayability.

If the screenshots provided on the are anything to go by, Empire of Sin looks gorgeous but that doesn't mean it will require a NASA supercomputer. GTX 750 Ti and AMD Radeon HD 5870 found their way to recommended specs, both of which are considered low-end hardware.
Same goes for the CPU department - Intel Pentium G4600 and AMD A10 7700K are the recommended processors.
