Trion Worlds announced they are taking down Defiance and Defiance 2050, somewhat close to a decade after the first one's launch.

Ark Hunting and Hellbug killing is coming to an end on April 29, 2021, when Defiance and Defiance 2050 will be shut down. For those not in the loop, these are essentially the same game, with the latter being closer to a remaster rather than a sequel.

Trion Worlds announced the closure because the games were not able to sustain themselves anymore, defeating the purpose of the service games. As such, all cash purchases have been disabled until the servers go down at the end of April but those who purchased Bits after February 24, 2021, can still use them until the lights are out-

As compensation, Trion announced players can get 100 per cent of the Bits they spend in the last 60 days or 200 Bits they spent in last 30 days in any of the titles from gamigo's portfolio.

On that note, all Defiance players will also be able to use some codes in order to start their journey in the following games:

  • THXANDSEEYOUINTROVE - Trove
  • DOGREETSYOU - Desert Operations
  • WELCOMEARKHUNTERAA - ArcheAge
  • WELCOMEARKHUNTERAAU - ArcheAge Unchained

As for using the Bits in Defiance, players can get all the items in the store for 95 per cent off.

On top of that, server events will be available for Defiance and Defiance 2050 each week or two. Server boosts for skill, reputation and experience points will be active along with periodic item giveaways.
